Martha offers a unique combination of coaching and corporate experience. For over 25 years, Martha has worked as a counselor, facilitator and trainer specializing in the areas of conflict management, performance improvement and career development. With a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW), Martha’s background spans public affairs, management training and organization development.

Principal

Since 1989, Martha has managed Martha Dove & Associates Inc.  Based in Toronto, she provides specialized coaching, training and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, financial services, government, health care, pharmaceutical and telecommunications. Martha has worked with diverse organizations including the various businesses of GE Canada, Bombardier, Maple Leaf Foods, the College of Nurses of Ontario, Bell Canada, Canada Post, Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Canada, members of the Ontario Hospital Association, Allstate Insurance, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Environment Canada and the Food & Consumer Product Manufacturers Association of Canada.


Coaching and Counseling
Martha offers specialized workplace coaching in conflict management, performance improvement and career development. Her expertise is in private and corporate counseling and coaching for professionals, managers and entrepreneurs. She works with new managers, professionals re-entering the workplace after starting a family, middle managers dealing with specific team building or project management issues, and senior executives looking at career development, retirement planning or starting a new business.

Facilitation
Martha has worked as a small group facilitator and/or coach for corporate clients including: the Law Society of Upper Canada (Coaching Skills Program);  the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. (Coaching for Exceptional Results Program);  the BMO Financial Group, Institute for Learning (The Discipline of Managerial Leadership Program); GE Canada (Facilitation Skills Training) and Maple Leaf Foods (Six Sigma/Black Belt Coaching/Training). These programs are practical, interactive and fun including role playing, practice sessions and feedback that build on strengths.

Training
Over the years, Martha has delivered numerous facilitation skills training workshops for industry, business and government clients. Since 1995, Martha has worked extensively with Carl Aspler, a training expert in organization change, teambuilding and leadership development.

Pat Delbridge Associates Inc. (1986-89)
Senior Research Associate

At this Toronto-based public affairs company, Martha worked with Pat Delbridge, a leader in stakeholder analysis and issues management. As part of a dynamic research team, Martha played a key role in managing innovative community advisory programs for clients in the health care, pharmaceutical, environmental and telecommunications industries. She facilitated a variety focus groups, consumer advisory panels and multi-stakeholder forums on contentious issues ranging from patent protection for brand name drugs and hospital restructuring, to changes in managing air quality and telecommunications service and delivery.

MacLeod Consulting Services Ltd. (1984-86)
Trainer

Working with experienced trainers and facilitators, Connie MacLeod and Sharon Cohen, Martha developed skills in training design and delivery in conflict management, work performance improvement and human rights in the workplace for government, private and non-for-profit organizations.

Family and Child Services of York Region (1981-84)

As part of a team responsible for child protection, Martha provided front-line case management, individual and family counseling, staff training seminars and community education programs.
